Toilet Paper

Sustainable Toilet Rolls

THE PROBLEM

Every day, a staggering 27,000 trees are cut down to produce toilet paper. This alarming fact has inspired us to develop Bamboo Toilet Roll, a 100% tree-friendly toilet paper.

THE INITIATIVE

The Bamboo Toilet Roll initiative produces sustainable toilet paper made from 100% bamboo, a fast-growing and renewable resource that doesn't require deforestation.

THE WORK

Bamboo Toilet Roll works with local partners and strives to exceed partner /customer expectations by continuously innovating. We operate in multiple European countries and are the largest in our home country of the Netherlands. The Bamboo Toilet Roll initiative is committed to sustainable solutions and supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Bamboo exploitation in Ghana could lead to substantial job creation. Harvesting and using bamboo sustainably can generate employment across farming, production, design, and marketing, fostering economic growth, sustainability, and environmental preservation.

THE MARKET POTENTIAL

Additionally, neighboring countries (incl. North America) of Ghana present an exciting opportunity for Bamboo toilet paper. By extending our reach to these regions, we aim to contribute to eco-friendly practices and make a positive difference in the surrounding areas.

LAND ALLOCATION

The consideration of allocating land for bamboo exploitation in Ghana would greatly contribute to our sustainable development goals and economic prosperity. By supporting this initiative, Ghana can harness the potential of bamboo and this endeavor would be highly appreciated.

THE CHALLENGE

We believe that Ghana, with its robust infrastructure, is the ideal
country to develop sustainable toilet paper. There are two possible
approaches:

1. IMPORT

Importing bamboo from
Ghana and/or China and
manufacturing toilet paper
within Ghana. Importing bamboo from
trusted sources and
manufacturing toilet paper
locally ensures a streamlined
supply chain and reduces
logistical challenges.

2. LOCAL PRODUCTION

Cultivating and processing
bamboo locally!
By fostering the production of
bamboo domestically,
Ghana can contribute to
its own economy while
promoting sustainable
practices.

EMPLOYMENT
This initiative aims to create employment, reduce poverty, increase economic opportunities for men and women, have a positive impact on the environment, and invest in socially responsible projects.
